What It Means To Be a Healthy Teens Campaign Partner

Since the inception of The Healthy Teens Campaign in January 2008, more than 80 organizations across Florida have joined the coalition as advocates for comprehensive sex education.  The Healthy Teens Campaign partners come from a variety of backgrounds, including educators, medical care providers, faith leaders, and parent and student organizations.  All of the Healthy Teens Campaign partners contribute their unique perspectives and experiences to our advocacy efforts, and are ultimately united by a deep commitment to ensuring Florida’s teens are safe and informed.  As a partner organization to The Healthy Teens Campaign, you determine the degree of involvement that is best for your organization. Partners of The Healthy Teens Campaign have the opportunity to contribute to our advocacy work in the following ways:

  • List their organization’s name on all coalition literature
  • Contact legislators (write letters, make phone calls, or request local meetings)
  • Testify at public hearings
  • Submit written testimony at public hearings
  • Write a letter to the editor of a newspaper
  • Write an article for your organization’s newsletter
  • Ask other groups to join the coalition
  • Suggest content and links for Healthy Teens Campaign website
  • Help organize local education events

Whether it’s writing a letter to your local paper, contacting legislators, or simply allowing the Healthy Teens Campaign to list your organization as a partner to strengthen our broad base of community support, every act of support for comprehensive sex education is a step towards ensuring the safety of Florida’s teens.   Partners of the Healthy Teens Campaign receive invitations to monthly state-wide conference calls, and also have access to a collaborative environment for developing and executing an effective advocacy strategy. There are no monthly dues or fees to join the Healthy Teens Campaign.
